The cooperation between naval industry in Italy and Spain brought to a large set of possible ship to enlarge the Armada.
Three designs for large armored cruisers were developed by Ansaldo Sa.
The second one was a large cruiser differing from the first mostly in the armament:
Displacement: 16.000 tons;
Lenght: 213.9 m (water line);
Beam: 22 m;
Draught: 6.65 m;
Installed power: 200.000 hp for 37 k.;
Fuel: 2200 tons, 4000 nm at 20k;
Armor: (150 belt – 50 extremities ) mm, 120 mm(bulkheads), 70 mm(main deck), 25 mm(upper deck), 150 mm(barbettes), 150 mm(CT);
Armament: 152/55 (4*3), 90/50 (12*1), 16 37/54 (8*2), 8 20/65 (4*2), 2 20/65 (2*1), 8 533 mm TT (2*4).
